900 South Oxbow Wetlands

Equinox Engineering partnered with SWCA Environemental Consultants, MGB+A Architects and Salt Lake City Corporation to create this urban wetland park in an existing upland vacant lot within an oxbow bend on the Jordan River.  Services provided include design and construction management for this urban wetland creation/restoration project located in West Central Salt Lake City. This project provides a created urban water feature park around a newly created wetland cell constructed within the oxbow.  Water from the Jordan River is diverted into the cell to allow for continuous self sustaining gravity flow.  Soil lifts were also added to protect the river bank from erosion while allowing establishment the regrowth of woody wetland vegetation.
