Farmington Bay Water Fowl Managment Area - Unit 1 Restoration

Equinox Engineering partnered with Farmington Bay WMA to complete this wetland restoration/enhancement project by providing design services and construction management oversight. This project restored and/or enhanced over 270 acres of wetlands  in a location that is higher than most of the management area which will allow for conservation and re-use of impounded water in lower cells across the Management Area.  This project was designed to protect existing salt water playa type wetlands while creating open water and emergent marsh habitat in close proximity that will support a wide range of aquatic life that has been missing from the location due to lack of suitable habitat.
