TOLL CREEK RESTORATION

Equinox Engineering has partnered with SWCA Environmental Consultants  & Snyderville Basin Recreation District to restore a portion of Toll Creek that has been significantly degraded due to urban development.  Equinox Engineering has provided Surveying and Design services for this restoration project that includes a re-design of an unstable slope/bank that supports an existing recreation trail which is failing and introducing increased sediment loading into the watershed.  Additional to the infrastructure protection, water channel hydraulic designs and modeling was provided as part of a design to to raise the project site water table to promote the restoration of a lost and/or degraded wetland complex.  A main project restoration feature includes  Beaver Dam Analogues to mimic natural proceses in the active channel and promote water depth and lateral distribution to promote wetland flora and fauna.
